Web Design
Layout, type, colour and motion designed as one system, not a set of screens. Every project gets its own visual language.

Web design & development studio
bits&bytes is a web studio. We turn an idea into a considered, fast, well-built site — from the first pixel through to the production deploy.
Every project starts the same way: understand the problem, draw the system, write the code.
No templates, no page-builders, no filler sections padding out a page that had nothing more to say. We design the thing the site actually needs and then build it properly — semantic markup, typed components, a real performance budget.
Because the same people design and build, nothing gets lost in a handoff. The layout that gets drawn is the layout that ships, and whoever drew it is the one answering for how fast it loads.
We take a site from the first sketch through to the production deploy — and then keep it running.
$cat studio.cfg
Six things, done properly, by the same people from start to finish.
Layout, type, colour and motion designed as one system, not a set of screens. Every project gets its own visual language.
Modern front-end engineering. Component architecture, typed code, and markup that means what it says.
Every breakpoint is designed, not squeezed. Phones get an intentional layout, not a narrower desktop.
Structure before surface. We map what people came to do, then design the shortest honest route to it.
Speed is a design decision. We set a budget at the start and hold the build to it — payload, fonts, images, the lot.
Containerised builds, automated pipelines and a site that keeps working after launch day.
A cross-section of the kind of work we take on. Open a project for the detail.
6 projects listed
Five stages, in order. You see working software from stage three onward, not a big reveal at the end.
read --brief
We learn the business, the audience and the constraints before anything gets drawn. Scope, budget and the one thing the site actually has to achieve.
draw --system
Structure first, then surface. Wireframes settle the hierarchy; the visual system settles type, colour, grid and component behaviour.
npm run build
Semantic, accessible front-end code, written component by component and reviewed as we go. You see it running on a staging URL the whole way.
git push origin main
Containerised builds and an automated pipeline, so releasing is a push rather than an event. Performance and accessibility are checked before it goes live.
watch --uptime
Dependencies patched, uptime watched, and a standing line to us for the changes every live site eventually needs.
Tell us what you have in mind — a new site, a rebuild, or a rough idea that needs shaping. We answer every message ourselves.
